This week’s tip brought to you by… the beginning of the month of September!
My tip to you today is to embrace the freshness of the new month.
A new month or week brings to us a sense of freshness like no other type of day can. It’s another chance to do what we want or need to do in order to reach our goals. So I say, EMBRACE THE FRESHNESS that this new month has provided!
September is a new (or continuing) opportunity to work hard and put forth our best effort. Take the time in the next few days to write down, or at the very least think about, the things you would like to accomplish in the next 30 days. They may be goals or just things you would like to work on. They could also be health, work, family/home related or whatever you want them to be.
If you write them down, they will be easier to remember and you will be able to reference your list throughout the month to keep it fresh in your mind and to stay focused. I personally like to write mine or post them online somewhere. Making them public helps me stay even more accountable to myself, but it’s not for everyone.
Today I’m taking the time to reflect on my August goals. The two biggest were to reduce my soda consumption from one daily to two max per week, and to stop nibbling food while serving my nephews meals/snacks. I successfully did both and will continue to do what I did from now on. To reduce my soda consumption, I had flavored water in the evenings instead, which I will continue to do until I decide to taper those off as well.
My September goals are to make it to the gym consistently 3+ times a week and to strength train a minimum of 2 times a week. The strength training has always been something I need to work on and I won’t give up. I’m going to do my best each day/week with my gym goal while I build it into a true habit for myself. My hope for this month is that my feet issue will heal enough for my doctor to clear me to start running again.
